Midtown Toronto Piano Studio Policy

Agreement Description

1. All parents/guardians are welcome at any time to observe. Only one parent or guardian is allowed to stay at the time of the lesson.

2. The policies for online and in-person lessons are the same. When mandated by the Government, the Studio will work online exclusively.

3. Midtown Toronto Piano Studio is a private in-home studio located at Mrs. Haidaichuk (director/founder) primary residence, 200 Balliol Street

LESSON LENGTH
Lessons are 30, 45, or 60 minutes long and can take place at the studio or online.

LESSON PLANS
– 4 Lesson Cycle: Booked once a week over 30 day time frame. Payment MUST be received before the first lesson, and in the subsequent cycles payment MUST be received after the end of the fourth lesson.
The payment will add up to the total cost of the number of lessons to be received during the cycle.

– 10 Lesson Cycle: Booked once a week over a 90 day time frame. Payment MUST be received before the first lesson, and in the subsequent cycles payment MUST be received after the end of the tenth lesson.
The payment will add up to the total cost of the number of lessons to be received during the cycle.

PAYMENT
– The student or representative has the option to make payments in cash, via e-transfer (Interac) or using debit/credit bank cards.
– When e-transfer (Interac) option is selected, payment should be sent to [email protected]
– When a credit/debit card is preferred, the monthly fee is received through the Studio’s website. ( no data is stored, major credit/debit cards are accepted as well as PayPal)

LATE PAYMENT FEES
– If the monthly / trimestral payment is not made after 3 business days from the scheduled date a late fee of $10 is added to the account.

ATTENDANCE
– Once enrolled, we encourage students to attend their lessons in their respective schedules in order to develop tangible progress.  However, cancellations or rescheduling of lessons can be arranged with a notice of up to 24 hours.
– In case there is less than 24-hour notice no refunds can be arranged and the lesson will be forfeit.
– Lessons will be rescheduled within the 30 or 90 days time frame of their respective cycles. Any unused lessons will be forfeit after the 30/90 day time-frame expires.

STUDIO CALENDAR
-The studio works year-round withholding only the national holidays accountable.
-At the end of the first cycle students will receive a personal calendar with estimated attendance and payment dates
-If a lesson falls on a national holiday, arrangements will be made to reschedule accordingly.
-Students have the option to participate in the Recitals at their discretion.

HEALTH AND SAFETY
– When it is safe to do so and regulations allow, students can attend in-person lessons if they wish to do so.
– All students and parents are required to wear a mask, face shield, or face covering of preference when attending piano lessons.
– Washing hands upon arrival and departure, removing shoes at the door.
– Piano keys, doorknobs, and pedagogical materials are disinfected to guarantee all of our safety.
– There will be a 15-minute gap in between students to avoid contact between families and sanitize the necessary areas. Please don’t be late or too early, arrive on time to your lesson.
– Only one parent or guardian is allowed to stay to observe the lesson.
– Screening forms will be sent via email before every lesson (the morning of the day the lessons are scheduled).

NOTIFICATIONS ON ATTENDANCE
If a student needs to take a break from the piano lessons a notification via email or phone is needed 7 days before to make necessary arrangements to coordinate and schedule any unused lessons. No refunds will be offered. 

TEACHER’S ATTENDANCE
If the teacher needs to update the calendar for forced circumstances students will receive notification 5 days in advance and lessons will be rescheduled accordingly.

PRICE CHANGES
The Studio will adjust its prices on December 1, every year. The increase will reflect the inflation rates in the Ontario Region.
